Inclement Weather Policy Reminder

It’s the time of year where we like to remind you of our procedures during inclement weather events. The safety of our patrons and staff is our primary concern when we determine whether or not we will be opening late or closing early when storms hit. It is difficult to have a hard and fast rule on this as the conditions that contribute to the storm really dictate our decisions; however, we do follow some general guidelines:

  • If the School District of Clayton has canceled classes for the day or is on a snow schedule, the earliest we will open is 9:00 am. After that, we will make decisions every three hours based upon the road and weather conditions.
  • On non-school days we will make the determination based upon the ability of our staff to arrive at work safely. If the Missouri Department of Transportation has asked that non-emergency vehicles stay off the roads we will generally stay closed in order to give the snow removal personnel the ability to clear the roads effectively.

In all cases, we will update our Inclement Weather Hotline at 314-290-8561 and our website.  In addition, we will send regular email updates so make sure we have the best email address to contact you. This will insure that you are kept up-to-date on all activities related to The Center of Clayton. Have a Happy and Safe New Year!
