Registered Dietitian Services
For years, exercise has been seen as the “quick fix” for people with weight loss goals. For a person who has never exercised, adding exercise can have a dramatic effect, due to its shock to the body. However, as your body adapts to a new exercise routine, it becomes more efficient at utilizing as few calories as required to get the job done. In order to keep seeing results, further changes need to take place. Changing your workout regimen is a great option, but another place to make changes to your diet.
Diet habits vary from person to person. Some people find dieting so exhausting that they exercise just to keep their weight in check. Others maintain a lower calorie diet just so that they never have to set foot in a gym. Most people, however fall somewhere in between these two extremes.
No matter what your situation, changes occur throughout life that will affect body weight, including lifestyle changes, stress at home or work, hormonal changes (usually pre- and post-partum or perimenopausal), or disease. Even healthy people who haven’t changed their diet or exercise routine may experience weight gain. At this point, sitting down with someone to take a closer look at your diet can give you better perspective on little changes that can add up to major savings in calories.
The Center of Clayton now offers the services of a Registered Dietitian to assist you with your diet. Whether you are looking to make a few small tweaks or hoping for a total diet overhaul, our RD will analyze your diet and help you make the changes you need to get to your goals.
