Ice Rink Programs

Group Skating Lessons

Skating lessons are available for youth through adult and are broken down into age and skill levels. For descriptions and availability of each level, view our online registration site.

Private Skating Lessons

Private skating lessons are taught by our Head Coach, Joy Elder.  Joy has been the Head Coach at the Shaw Park Ice Rink for 30 years.  She is a former competitive figure skater and skated professionally for The Ice Follies and Disney on Ice.  Joy is accredited by the Professional Skaters Association with certifications in Freestyle, Group Basic Skills and Hockey.  For more information, click here.   

Adult Hockey

A six week adult hockey program is also available on Sunday and Monday nights from 9:30 - 10:45 pm.  Players must provide their own equipment and no checking or slap shots are permitted.  Teams are decided each night.  Goalies are offered free registration. To register, visit our online registration site or call The Center of Clayton at 314-290-8500.

Stick & Puck Sessions are also available for patrons to practice hockey skills with goals at each end. Hours vary by age group, so please see the main Ice Rink page for details. No registration is needed, however daily admission rates apply.

Back this season! - The adult recreational BEGINNER hockey league for individual players and/or teams starting Tuesday, December 2, 2014.  Games times are 8:15 and 9:30 pm and teams can expect to play 10-11 this season. Organization and registration for this league is handled by Tom Barnes at Arch Hockey. To sign up, contact Tom at or  503-704-1964.  Space for this season is limited, so players are encouraged to submit application form and payment to Tom as early as possible.  You can also visit for more information.
