Property Maintenance

The City of Clayton is a high quality residential and business community featuring fine neighborhoods, an excellent school district and convenient services.

In order to assure that Clayton continues as an outstanding place to live and work, the City has adopted the 2006 International Property Maintenance Code with amendments.  The 2006 International Property Maintenance Code establishes minimum standards for the maintenance of properties and also contains provisions for the protection of tenants residing in rental units and commercial offices.  To determine that all properties meet these standards, annual inspections of the exterior and common areas are conducted. The goal of this inspection program is to assist in preserving the quality of living in Clayton by ensuring reasonable maintenance and safe occupancy.

Residents are encouraged to use this easy to follow checklist.
