Pedestrian Enhancement Project

Project Summary:

In accordance with Clayton's Downtown Master Plan, the Public Works Department continues to look for opportunities to expand streetscape sidewalks and pedestrian features such as brick banding, street trees, streetlights, irrigation, plantings, and furniture.  In fall 2010, the City applied for and received a grant to add streetscape along Bonhomme Avenue, S. Central Avenue, S. Meramec Avenue, and Shaw Park Drive.  The total project cost is approximately $2.2 Million, with the City contributing $353,000.  The balance would come from the grant ($1.76 Million) and private contributions ($76,000).

Schedule:

A consultant (CDG) has been selected and design is underway.  Construction will begin in late 2012.
