An Introduction to the Newman Money Museum by Tom Serfass, Curator Wed., March 16

Part of the 2011 CCF History Lecture Series

The Clayton Century Foundation (CCF) - History, a group dedicated to preserving the history of Clayton, will sponsor a fascinating presentation as part of its 2011 Lecture Series on Wednesday, March 16, 2011.  Tom Serfass will introduce guests to the Eric P. Newman Money Museum collection beginning at 7 p.m. at The Center of Clayton, 50 Gay Avenue.  Eric P. Newman was born in and still resides in Clayton, Missouri.  Mr. Newman’s expertise on the history of money is renowned and his collection is priceless.  We are fortunate that Newman Money Museum Curator, Tom Serfass, will lead the introduction into the collection.

Mr. Serfass graduated from Washington University with degrees in Economics and History.  Serfass also performed graduate work at UMSL in the areas of American and Latin American Colonial History.  Tom Serfass has been the curator of the Eric P. Newman Money Museum for twenty years.

While this lecture will take place at The Center of Clayton, you may visit the Newman Money Museum on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., Fridays, 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.  The Newman Money Museum is located on the campus of Washington University on the lower level of the Kemper Art Museum.
