Budget Hearings

The city held three interactive public budget forums in June. Sixty-three business and residential citizens participated in the forums and provided opinions and comments about 2012 budget priorities. The city is grateful to these concerned citizens for their interest in the community and support in making these important 2012 budget decisions.

In addition to the forums held on June 20, 22 and 29, citizens who were unable to attend the forums will have opportunities for further review of the 2012 draft budget at meetings that will be conducted by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen on August 23 and September 13 at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers. The public hearing on the 2011 tax rates and the FY2012 budget along with the first reading of the ordinances will be on August 23; the second reading and approval of the 2012 budget on September 13.

In the meantime, the 2012 Highlights Proposed Budget is available for review on the city’s website at claytonmo.gov/budget
