Clayton’s Finance Director Takes Another Position
March 7, 2011
City Manager Craig Owens announced that Clayton’s Finance Director Don Yucuis would be leaving the City effective July 18, 2011. He has accepted a position with Hot Springs Village Property Owners Association in Arkansas as their Chief Financial Officer/ Treasurer.
Mr. Yucuis came to Clayton in July 2001 after having served as Finance Director for the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. During his tenure in Clayton, the Finance Department continued its 23 year stint as a Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting (CAFR) award winner. The Department received the Government Finance Officers Budget Award in 2008, 2009 and 2010. In the results of the annual audit of 2010 records, external auditors reported no deficiencies in internal controls over financial reporting that could be considered a material weakness, which is an unprecedented accomplishment.
“Don has been an important part of the Clayton team for the past ten years and helped build the strong foundation of sound financial management and particularly the increased reporting capability to make our books transparent to the public we serve,” said City Manager Owens. “His talent and upbeat attitude will be missed, but we wish him well in his next career move.”
“I have enjoyed working and living in Clayton. The Mayor and Board of Alderman are top notch leaders of the community. The City’s management team is excellent, and the support staff is committed to community service,” said Mr. Yucuis. “It will be hard to leave the community and the friendships made here, but this is a great opportunity at the right time for me.”
City Manager Craig Owens will initiate a process to fill the position very soon.
