Clayton’s Shaw Park Ice Rink Closes for the Season

Due to the unseasonably warm temperatures this week, Clayton’s Shaw Park Ice Rink will close for the season, effective immediately.  Parks and Recreation staff worked to keep the rink open, but with Thursday’s high temperature of 74 degrees, all ice was melted by day’s end.  With the close of the season planned for February 28, there will not be enough time to rebuild the ice when the temperatures return to normal next week. “While this is not the way we would have hoped to end the year,” said Parks and Recreation Director Patty DeForrest, “we are pleased with the usage this year.”
