The Center of Clayton - Wood Court Update and Upcoming Closures

The repair of the flood damaged wood courts is ahead of schedule.  As the finishing stage begins, The Center will need to modify hours as listed below.  When The Center is closed, members may use Shaw Park Aquatic Center or The Heights at no charge by presenting a valid membership card.  Please follow the links for information about each building’s location and hours.

All indoor programs taking place during these times have been canceled.  Registered participants of cancelled programs will receive a credit for the missed class. 

Sealant

For the initial coats of sealant, The Center will close in order to allow the air handlers to be turned off to protect the surface from rippling.  In addition there will be a mild odor associated with this application.  Modified Center hours will be as follows:
Thursday, July 7 5:30 am – 2:00 pm
Friday, July 8 5:30 am – 2:00 pm

Finish Coat

The finishing coats will produce a strong odor; as a result The Center will be closed during the applications through to the end of each day.  Though most of the odor is expected to dissipate during the closure, some residual odor may be in the building on the following days.  Members who wish to avoid any residual odor on Sunday, July 17 may utilize facilities at The Heights or Shaw Park Aquatic Center.  Modified Center hours will be as follows:
Friday, July 15 5:30 am – 12:00 noon
Saturday, July 16 Closed

Wood courts should be reopened as early as July 25.  The Center staff thanks members and guests for the patience and understanding shown throughout this repair process.
