Severe Weather Spotter Training
The National Weather Service (NWS) and the Cities of Clayton and Maplewood will host a Severe Weather Spotter Training class on Saturday, March 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at Clayton City Hall at 10 N. Bemiston Avenue in Clayton. No advanced registration is required by seating will be limited.
To enhance its weather warning systems, the NWS trains volunteers to become its eyes and ears. Weather spotters provide real-time observation of severe weather events that assist NWS meteorologists in making warning decisions. Spotters help the NWS protect life and property, and provide the community with lifesaving information.
