Center of Clayton
The Center of Clayton offers the ultimate experience in sports, fitness, swimming, recreational, educational and lifestyle enhancing programs. The Center's 136,000 square feet includes four gymnasiums, two pools, a suspended jogging track, weight lifting, aerobic/dance areas, a 30-foot climbing wall, classrooms, lounge, Subway and meeting rooms. The City of Clayton, The Center of Clayton and Big Shark Bicycle Company are proud to host the second annual Clayton Kids Triathlon on Sunday, August 16, 2015. Kids ages 7-14 can try their first triathlon with swimming at Shaw Park’s pool, biking on Shaw’s paths and running on the Centennial Greenway trail. Learn more at www.bigshark.com.
The summer hours will come to an end on August 9 just before the start of the new school year. All hours, including holidays, are posted on the Hours page.
Clayton High School students return to class on August 12. Throughout the school year, students utilize the facility for physical education, athletic practice, and personal growth. As these programs occasionally require full access to various areas within The Center, please refer to the pool and gymnasium schedules for changes in availability. Parking during school days and some events may also be congested throughout the year. We will let you know in future alerts if any foreseen crowding should arise.
The Competition Pool will be closed August 17-21 and the Leisure Pool will be closed August 24 – September 7 for annual cleaning. Center members can swim for free at Shaw Park Aquatic Center, The Heights and Maplewood Family Aquatic Center from August 17 through September 7. Present your membership card for admission during the times listed on the End of Season Schedule.
It is time again to sign up for fall classes! The Fall 1 session begins on August 16 and runs through October 10. Whether you want to build your strength and endurance with a fitness class, sign up your child for swim lessons, get a team together for an adult sports league, or learn to play the guitar, we have programs to fit your interests.
