Center of Clayton

The Center of Clayton offers the ultimate experience in sports, fitness, swimming, recreational, educational and lifestyle enhancing programs. The Center's 149,000 square feet includes four gymnasiums, plus 20,663 square feet of aquatic areas, a suspended jogging track, weight lifting, aerobic/dance areas, a 30-foot climbing wall, classrooms, lounge, Subway and 2592 square feet of meeting rooms. For more information on The Center of Clayton call 290-8500. 



Current News

Wood Court Refinishing

Annual refinishing of the wood courts will take place after hours on Sunday, May 5. The Center will open at normal hours the following day however members who wish to avoid any residual odor are encouraged to adjust their schedule accordingly. Gyms 1 and 2 will be closed May 6 through 17 and reopen for use on May 18.

Summer Membership

Do you know anyone looking for a cool place to burn some energy this summer? Summer Memberships to The Center of Clayton will be available starting May 13 and automatically end on August 31. They are perfect for students out of school and those looking for an escape from the hot and humid St. Louis summer.  For more information, visit www.centerofclayton.com/summer

Memorial Day and Summer Hours

In observance of Memorial Day, The Center of Clayton will be open from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on Monday, May 27. No classes or nursery service will be offered that day.

Memorial Day weekend also marks the beginning of our summer hours. The Center’s usage in the evening hours declines when the weather is warmer.  To be responsible with your membership dollars we will continue seasonal hours between Memorial Day weekend and the return of school.

Saturday, May 25 through Sunday, August 18, The Center will have the following hours:

Monday - Friday            5:30 am - 9:00 pm
Saturday & Sunday       7:00 am - 6:00 pm

Summer Camps

Summer camps begin next month! The 2013 camp information and registration is available at The Center of Clayton and online at www.claytonmo.gov/camps. Be sure to fill out the 2013 Emergency Contact Form and return it to The Center to begin the registration process.

Severe Weather Policy

In the event that a Severe Thunderstorm or Tornado Warning is issued by the National Weather Service, patrons will be led by staff to the locker rooms and adjoining hallway. Additionally, the pools may be evacuated without an official NWS Warning if storms with heavy lightning are nearby.  For your safety, please follow the direction of staff members in these extreme weather events. 

8th Grade Promotion

Next year’s Clayton High School freshman class will be visiting Stuber Gym the evening of Wednesday, May 29.  During the event, parking on the gym side parking lot will be reserved for 8th Grade Promotion families. Center members will be able to park on the pool side, however expect heavy parking after 5:00 pm.

Centennial Activities

Don’t forget to join the Clayton Centennial Celebration this year! Great events are planned including history lectures, Ralph Clayton’s birthday, and a community trivia night. For more information, visit the centennial web page at www.clayton2013.com.

100 Mile Challenge

Sign up at the Welcome Desk to walk or swim 100 miles this year. The first 100 participants to return their completed tracking card will win a special Clayton Centennial gift.
