Youth Basketball Registration
Clayton Parks and Recreation is currently accepting team and individual registrations for grades 1-8 in the 2016-2017 Youth Basketball League. League practices will begin in mid-November with games starting in January. Registration forms are due by Friday, October 21 and can be found online at www.claytonmo.gov/youthsports.
Prescription Drug Take Back
On Saturday, October 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., The Clayton Police Department, in cooperation with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, will be conducting a National Prescription Drug Take Back event at the parking lot of the Center of Clayton, 50 Gay Ave. During this event, Police Officers and DEA Agents will be accepting expired, unwanted or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications for disposal. The focus of this event is to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from our nation’s medicine cabinets. The substances will be accepted with no questions asked and will be destroyed under the direction of the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The Clayton Chamber of Commerce is hosting Shred Day in Shaw Park on Wednesday, October 26 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. This free event provides the community with a safe and secure resource to shred confidential personal and business documents. Anyone can bring up to five boxes to be shredded on-site by a certified Cintas employee. For more information call the Clayton Chamber of Commerce at 314-726-3033.
STL Half Marathon
The annual St. Louis Half Marathon, Clayton Police 5K & Youth Run benefiting Special Olympics of Missouri will be held Sunday, November 6 beginning at 7:30 am at The Center of Clayton. Registration for the event is available online at www.stlouistrackclub.com.
