Police Weekly Incident Report: April 23 - 29
On Tuesday at 3:10 am, a car alarm was activated on East Polo. A witness observed a male suspect running from the scene. The vehicle was not damaged and nothing was missing. Later on Tuesday, a resident on the 800 block of S. Bemiston reported a small amount of money missing from an unlocked vehicle. It’s unknown if the two incidents are related.
On Wednesday at 1:40 am, an officer observed a male subject hiding in bushes at Wydown and W. Brentmoor. The subject had two bags belonging to a victim living on Westwood. The victim was contacted and her vehicle was found to have a broken window. The suspect was arrested and charged with Stealing and Property Damage.
On Thursday at 4:11 pm, a female driver was flourished with a handgun by a male suspect driving northbound on Big Bend near Oak Knoll Park. Later in the evening, the same suspect flourished a driver in University City and he was suspected of flourishing drivers in several other jurisdictions over the course of a few days. Maplewood PD officers located the vehicle and the suspect in their jurisdiction on Thursday evening. He was arrested for Unlawful Use of a Weapon by Clayton detectives. He has charges pending for the other jurisdictions as well.
On Friday at 10:42 am, a traffic stop on the 6600 block of Clayton Rd. resulted in the driver being arrested for Possession of Controlled Substances (methamphetamine, Ecstasy, and Xanax) and fugitive warrants. On Friday at 1:25 pm, a traffic stop near Clayton Rd. and Brentwood Blvd. resulted in the driver being arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance (Oxycodone) and Possession of Marijuana.
On Friday at 8:52 pm, a resident in East Brentmoor Park noticed a male subject trespassing in his yard. The resident yelled at the subject, who quickly entered a dark colored SUV and left the area. The resident reported nothing missing or disturbed from his property.
On Saturday at 12:47 pm, a traffic stop near S. Brentwood and Francis Place resulted in the driver being arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute. The driver was found in possession of a large quantity of marijuana and items used in its sale.
On Sunday at 12:32 am, a driver was arrested for DWI at Shaw Park Dr. and S. Central. The driver’s blood alcohol by content was over 2.5 times the legal limit.
On Sunday at 2:46 am, a driver travelling too fast on westbound Forest Park Parkway at the entrance ramp to southbound I-170 could not safely negotiate the curve and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle struck a guardrail and rolled over. The driver only suffered minor injuries.
During this reporting period, the Clayton PD responded to 548 calls for service, including 20 automobile accidents and 25 calls to assist the Fire Department.
