Police Weekly Activity Report: May 14 - 20

On Monday, May 14, at 8:14 am, a resident on the 6300 block of Alamo reported a tire stolen from a vehicle parked on the street.  The theft occurred in the overnight hours.  A second vehicle on Buena Vista in St. Louis City also had a tire removed.

 On Monday, May 14, at 2:00 pm, a bicycle was reported stolen from an apartment building garage on the 8100 block of Roxburgh.  The theft occurred between Saturday afternoon and Monday afternoon.

 On Tuesday at 1:55 am, a suspect shoplifted several electronic items from Walgreens.  He was located by an officer at Clayton and DeMun and arrested.  Due to his prior convictions for stealing, the suspect was charged with a felony.

 On Thursday at 12:17 am, a traffic stop on the 200 block of S. Meramec resulted in a DWI arrest.

 On Thursday at 8:26 am, Clayton officers responded to the Centene construction site at S. Hanley and Forsyth to assist the Fire Department with a worker who was injured during a fall on the jobsite

 On Friday at 6:06 pm, Clayton officers responded to S. Hanley and Davis Dr. to conduct traffic control for a large water main break. 

 On Saturday at 4:46 pm, a male subject knocked on a door in the Polo subdivision and claimed he was with Charter Cable.  The subject asked the homeowner if he was interested in internet and cable service.  When the homeowner told the subject that he was not interested in the services, the subject started begging for money.  The subject then threatened to come back and rob the homeowner when he was asked to leave. The subject then approached another homeowner in Polo and asked to mow his lawn for money.  When the homeowner refused, the subject became agitated and made a threatening statement.  The subject knocked on at least one more door in Polo and begged for money.  He was last seen walking toward the walkway from Shirley Drive to the Central Business District.  The subject was described as a black male, 5’10”, slim build, mid-20s, and wearing a dark colored baseball cap.  Please contact the Clayton PD if you information or video of this subject from your home surveillance system. 

 On Sunday at 2:29 am, a traffic stop on the 6300 block of S. Rosebury resulted in the driver being arrested for a fugitive burglary charge from another jurisdiction.  Two other passengers in the vehicle were charged with Possession of Marijuana. 

 During this reporting period, the Clayton PD responded to 595 call for service, which included 24 motor vehicle accidents and 34 calls to assist the Fire Department.
