Police Weekly Incident Report: October 29 – November 4
On Wednesday at 6:45 am, officers responded to southbound I-170 for an accident involving five vehicles and two injured drivers. The driver responsible for causing the accident walked away from the scene leaving his wrecked vehicle behind. The suspect was identified and is currently wanted for Felony Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
On Thursday at approximately 5:00 am, two unlocked vehicles in the Claverach Park neighborhood were rummaged through by an unknown suspect but nothing was taken.
On Thursday at 3:15 pm, five juveniles dined and dashed from IHOP. A Clayton officer tried to stop them on S. Brentwood across from the Galleria, but they ran from the officer into the neighborhood to the east. Officers located four of the juveniles hiding in a tool shed in the backyard of a house on E. Linden in Richmond Heights. The fifth suspect was not located. The four juveniles were arrested and referred to St. Louis County Family Court.
On Friday at 3:25 am, two unlocked vehicles were rummaged through in Tuscany Park. Property was taken from both vehicles.
On Sunday around midnight, a driver was found asleep at the wheel in a traffic lane on DeMun at Clayton Rd. He was subsequently arrested for DWI.
During this reporting period, the Clayton PD responded to 465 calls for service, including 25 automobile accidents and 35 calls to assist the Fire Department.
