During a phone conversation, the suspect talked the victim into purchasing large sums of Best Buy and Google gift cards. The victim provided the suspect with the serial numbers for the gift cards. The suspect also talked the victim into sending him a large sum of cash via FedEx to an address in California. The Clayton officer contacted the police department in California with jurisdiction over that address. The California police department responded to the suspect’s address and arrested the suspect. On Friday morning at between 4:00 – 4:10 am, several unlocked vehicles on the 8000 block of Watkins and the 800 and 900 blocks of S. Meramec were rummaged through.
