As the Center nears its twentieth year of operation, mechanical systems including the aquatic center air quality control unit are in need of replacement. These large systems have reached their life expectancy and replacement will enable the Center to continue to handle its large volume of daily visitors.  The project will also include enhancements of the member experience through improved and expanded amenities as well as energy conservation strategies.

Center of Clayton Renovation Update August 1

Publish Date:08/01/2019 7:00 PM
The old Youth Activity Center space is gone! This week, crews began demolishing the walls to make way for the new expansion area. Once fully removed, utilities under the building will be moved and footings will be poured for the new walls and floor. Watch a short video of the demolition on our Facebook page.

Plumbing and electrical work is underway in the pools and Member Locker Rooms. The closure of these facilities is expected to continue through late September. Members will have access to Shaw Park Aquatic Center throughout this time.

Water issues under Courts 3 and 4 have proven to be extensive and will require additional mitigation measures. The increased work is expected to push the opening of these courts.

Additional renovation updates will be sent as closure information becomes available. Project details are also available on the Center of Clayton Renovation webpage
