Weekly Police Incident Report: October 28th - November 3rd

For the reporting period of Monday, October 28th - Sunday, November 3rd, Clayton Police officers responded to 436 calls for service, including 22 automobile accidents & 31 calls to assist the Fire Department. Among those calls were the following incidents:

 

Officers were alerted to a wrong way driver being pursued by St. Louis County PD Monday morning. As the vehicle entered the area of Clayton, dispatchers reported the driver was suspected of being armed & suicidal. CPD officers followed the vehicle safely through Clayton city limits. A short time later the vehicle was disabled & the subject was taken into custody without incident.

 

Later Monday morning, a female was arrested for Burglary 2nd after she was found attempting to force entry into a building in the 900 block of St. Rita. Officers were later notified the subject had a warrant for Burglary & Theft through Wyandotte County KS.

 

Tuesday morning, an inmate at the St. Louis County Jail reported he had been assaulted by his cellmate. Investigation is ongoing.

 

Officers responded to The Church of St. Michael & St. George Tuesday afternoon for a report of a female subject trespassing. The female was identified as the same subject arrested Monday for Burglary 2nd.  She was located nearby & arrested for trespassing & the Kansas warrant.

 

Wednesday morning, a female attempted to pass a counterfeit check at a local bank. The same subject is suspected of attempting additional fraudulent transactions at other area banks.  A suspect has been identified and investigation is ongoing.

 

Wednesday afternoon, a St. Louis County Corrections Officer was physically assaulted by an inmate.  The inmate was arrested for assault 3rd & remains in custody of the St. Louis County Jail. 

 

Wednesday night, an inmate at the St. Louis County Justice Center was found in possession of marijuana.  He was arrested for the violation & remains in custody of the jail. 

 

A victim reported parking her vehicle in the 6300 block of Wydown Thursday afternoon.  When she returned to the vehicle a short time later, she discovered both of the passenger side windows had been damaged. 

 

An officer was on patrol in the Clayshire neighborhood early Friday morning when she discovered a leather tote bag & wallet in the roadway. It was determined the items were removed from an unlocked vehicle at a nearby residence. A 2nd resident later provided surveillance footage showing a small car in the neighborhood at 5am. Video showed 4 subjects exiting the vehicle. 2 were seen approaching her unlocked vehicle & removing items before all 4 subjects left the area.

 

Later Friday, a manager at Walgreens manager alerted officers to 2 fraudulent transactions which occurred on the 23rd.  Two male subjects made back to back purchases of gift cards, using what appeared to be a credit card, however the transactions resulted in the register drawer being shorted over $900. 

 

While investigating a vehicle accident in the 6700 block of Clayton Rd. Friday evening, officers arrested the driver for driving under the influence of a controlled substance.  The passenger was arrested for possession of suspected heroin. 

 

Lastly, while conducting a business check of CVS Sunday afternoon, an officer was contacted by staff who reported 3 subjects stole several bottles of alcohol from the store & left the area in a Hyundai Sonata. The owner of the vehicle has been identified & investigation is ongoing.
