Weekly Police Incident Report: November 11th - 17th

For the reporting period of Monday, November 11th - Sunday, November 17th, Clayton Police officers responded to 472 calls for service, including 24 automobile accidents & 34 calls to assist the Fire Department. Among those calls were the following incidents:

Monday afternoon, an individual who was previously banned from the St. Louis County Library returned. He was subsequently arrested for trespassing.

Tuesday morning, an employee at the Kitchen Conservatory discovered a subject posing as a customer entered an “employees only” space & stole her wallet.

Tuesday afternoon, a man entered Oceano Bistro under the guise of applying for employment. He ordered & consumed a meal before leaving without making any attempt to pay for it. It appears the man submitted his actual personal information on an application before he left & officers are attempting to locate him.

A resident contacted officers Wednesday morning after she discovered an unknown person opened a credit card months ago using her identification. She is unsure when or how her information was compromised.

SLMPD notified our officers Wednesday afternoon they had recovered a vehicle previously reported as stolen from the Clayshire Neighborhood. Investigation is ongoing.

Wednesday night, an individual reported he was having suicidal thoughts & asked a passerby to contact officers on his behalf. The individual was located & agreed to respond to a local hospital for treatment.

Thursday afternoon, management at Mayana reported a former employee was refusing to return items belonging to the business.

Thursday evening, Richmond Heights PD officers attempted to stop 2 stolen vehicles as they left the Galleria parking lot. Both cars fled northbound on Brentwood Blvd. into Clayton. One vehicle was last seen driving northbound toward the Forest Park Parkway. The other stolen vehicle collided with a car driven by a Clayton resident at S. Brentwood and Daytona. The stolen car then crashed into the Enterprise sign at the entrance to Corporate Park. The 3 occupants of the stolen car ran from the scene through the Corporate Park campus. Clayton officers initiated a foot pursuit & arrested all 3 suspects outside of the old Family Court building. The Clayton resident involved in the collision suffered minor injuries. None of the officers or suspects were injured.

A traffic stop early Friday morning in the area of Davis & S. Hanley resulted in the arrest of the driver for DWI.

Friday afternoon, officers responded to Bank of America after employees reported an individual was causing a disturbance. The man is not a customer of the bank & was refusing to leave. Officers are familiar with the individual & he will be informed he is no longer welcome at the bank.

Friday evening, officers were alerted to a suspicious vehicle parked behind the Ritz Carlton. A check of the vehicle resulted in the arrest of the driver for possession of marijuana & drug paraphernalia.

Lastly, early Saturday morning, a traffic stop in the area of Clayton & S. Central resulted in the arrest of the driver for possession of marijuana.
