As the Center nears its twentieth year of operation, mechanical systems including the aquatic center air quality control unit are in need of replacement. These large systems have reached their life expectancy and replacement will enable the Center to continue to handle its large volume of daily visitors.  The project will also include enhancements of the member experience through improved and expanded amenities as well as energy conservation strategies. A project to create an additional 140 parking spaces and a new turf field for Clayton High School is concurrently under construction.

Center Closure March 13-22

Publish Date:01/14/2020 4:50 PM

Throughout the construction process, we have been committed to doing everything we can to keep our facility as open as possible. However, we are now faced with the need to shut down for HVAC replacement and interior demolition. Rather than schedule several two to three-day closures, we have determined that the best course is to close The Center during spring break (March 13 – 22, 2020) while schools are not in session. This is traditionally a slower time for us with many of our residents and members traveling. The Center will reopen for normal business at 5:15 am on Monday, March 23.

During the closure, Center members will have complimentary access to The Heights by presenting a valid membership card at their front desk. Visit The Heights’ website for hours and additional information:

This closure will enable us to reduce the total duration of construction by 4 to 6 weeks with a new approximate completion date of mid-May.

All fitness and aquatic classes occurring on closure dates have been canceled. Programs have been prorated for future registrations, and any previous registrations that included those dates will be credited for the class(es) missed.
