Publish Date:04/06/2020 10:20 AM

For the reporting period of Monday, March 30th - Sunday, April 5th, CPD officers responded to 243 calls for service including 3 automobile accidents & 25 calls to assist the Fire Department. Among those calls were the following incidents:

Tuesday evening, officers responded to a hotel in the central business district after the valet discovered a vehicle was missing from the garage. The owner of the vehicle is a frequent guest & leaves his vehicle parked at the hotel for his use when he is in town. Surveillance footage revealed that earlier in the evening, 2 unknown suspects entered the garage on foot & left in the vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.

Thursday morning, the staff at another hotel was reviewing security footage when they discovered an unknown man helped himself to food in the kitchen before entering a guest room. Staff verified he was not a guest of the hotel & the man was arrested for trespassing.

Saturday morning, a passerby reported an abandoned vehicle was blocking the on ramp to I-170 from Forest Park Parkway. Officers discovered evidence the vehicle had been wrecked prior to being abandoned, however they were unable to reach the owner for follow up.

Lastly, Sunday evening, hotel staff observed a man in an area currently under construction. The subject left the scene prior to the arrival of officers. It is believed this is the same man arrested for trespassing Thursday morning.
