Weekly Police Incident Report: May 4th - 10th

For the reporting period of Monday, May 4th - Sunday, May 11th, CPD officers responded to 273 calls for service, including 4 automobile accidents and 16 calls to assist the Fire Department. Among those calls were the following incidents:

A property manager contacted the CPD Monday morning after discovering extensive damage to an apartment he manages. The apartment was leased for the weekend & the renter reportedly caused approximately $2,500 worth of property damage & stole an additional $1,500 worth of items belonging to the property owner. Investigation is ongoing.


Later Monday morning, a resident discovered someone used his residence as the backdrop for a photo of a vehicle listed for sale online. The seller was contacted & agreed to remove the photos.


IHOP employees called for assistance late Monday night after a man caused a verbal disturbance. Employees reported the man appeared to be intoxicated & became verbally aggressive toward them before leaving the store. When officers arrived, the man was seated in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, preparing to drive away. Following on scene investigation, he was arrested for DWI & resisting arrest.


A resident of the DeMun area awoke Wednesday morning to discover both license plates had been removed from his vehicle. One of the plates was recovered Friday when Florissant PD conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle displaying the plate. The driver of that vehicle was identified & investigation is ongoing.


Early Thursday morning, Walgreens reported a subject began consuming alcohol inside the store without attempting to purchase it. The subject was located nearby & per the request of Walgreens, was issued a warning for trespassing.


Hertz Car Rental employees contacted CPD Friday morning to report a subject failed to return a rental vehicle. The original rental agreement was for the period of January 13th – March 2nd. All attempts by Hertz to recover the vehicle have been unsuccessful & investigation is ongoing.


A traffic stop in the area of Wydown & Big Bend Friday night resulted in the arrest of the driver for possession of marijuana.


Sunday morning, a resident in the DeMun area discovered his bicycle had been stolen from the shared storage area of his building. A 2nd storage unit was tampered with but nothing was missing. Time of occurrence is believed to be between Friday afternoon & Sunday morning.


Officers responded to a call to check the welfare of an unconscious driver in the area of DeMun & San Bonita Sunday afternoon. Investigation revealed the man was under the influence of a controlled substance. Due to his condition he was transported to a local hospital for treatment. After further investigation, he was arrested for DWI (drugs) & possession of a controlled substance & drug paraphernalia.
