Publish Date:04/28/2026 2:20 PM

For the reporting period of Monday, April 20th – Sunday, April 26th, your CPD Officers responded to 532 calls for service. These included 17 vehicle crashes and 62 requests for Officers to assist other agencies. Among those calls were the following incidents:

A man reported he had been driving northbound on I-170 on Monday morning when his truck was struck by a tire from a vehicle in the southbound lanes. He did not see the other vehicle.

At roughly the same time, a driver in the southbound lanes reported a vehicle had left the scene after striking his passenger side mirror. The man provided a description of the vehicle and the man driving, and the investigation continues.

On Tuesday afternoon, a man reported that someone stole his backpack from his vehicle. He explained that he left his vehicle unlocked while making a delivery in the 7400 block of Forsyth Blvd. When he returned to his truck, he discovered the bag was missing. Investigators have not identified any suspects or witnesses. The investigation continues.

A traffic stop on the east end of town led to the arrest of a passenger Tuesday evening when Officers discovered the woman had active warrants. She initially gave Officers a fake name and date of birth. As officers spoke with the vehicle occupants, they learned her real identity. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) wanted her for Robbery 1st, Kidnapping 1st, Armed Criminal Action x 3, Burglary 1st, Assault 2nd, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Device. She was arrested for the warrant and issued a summons for providing a False Identity. Additionally, the driver was issued a summons for Failure to Register her vehicle and displaying a fictitious temporary license plate. Both women have upcoming court dates in the Clayton Municipal Court.

Late that night, a traffic stop near Wydown and Big Bend led to the driver’s arrest when Officers discovered he did not have a valid driver’s license. He has an upcoming court date through the Clayton Municipal Court.

Officers responded to a local bank on Wednesday afternoon to investigate a suspected case of identity theft. A bank employee noticed a man attempting to use an out-of-state ID to obtain a loan for several thousand dollars and reported his suspicions. Officers determined the man had stolen the personal identification information from an unsuspecting victim. Officers arrested the man and will present the case to the St. Louis County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration.

A traffic stop on S. Hanley Rd. early Thursday morning resulted in the arrest of the driver for Driving While Impaired by marijuana and other controlled substances. Following a search of the vehicle, Officers also discovered medication that was not prescribed to the man as well as a loaded pistol. All items were seized as evidence and forwarded to the St. Louis County Crime Lab for analysis. He was charged with DWI Persistent Offender, Possession of Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Pending lab results, this case will be presented to the St. Louis County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration.

A resident of the Moorlands neighborhood contacted the CPD on Thursday afternoon after discovering his vehicle had been stolen. He explained that he had parked his SUV in his assigned parking space in his building’s garage late Wednesday night and could not recall if he had left his keys in the vehicle. The vehicle was recovered in Ferguson late Thursday night, when Officers found the SUV abandoned at a vacant home. The investigation is ongoing.

While conducting a Friday morning traffic stop on S. Hanley, Officers discovered the driver lacked a valid license. As they spoke with him, they learned he was wanted by Florissant Police for Domestic Assault, by Berkeley Police for Providing False Information, and by several other agencies for traffic-related violations. When Officers told the man to exit the vehicle, he refused and sped away. He was subsequently entered as wanted for Aggravated Fleeing.

That afternoon, a woman set off a chain reaction when she struck a vehicle at the intersection of Maryland and Brentwood. She explained she had looked down at her phone for directions and struck a car stopped at the intersection. The force of the collision pushed that car into the rear of a third vehicle. The crash rendered one of the vehicles inoperable, and it was later towed from the scene.

On Saturday morning, Officers were called to the central business district to assist the St. Louis County Police Department with an arrest attempt. St. Louis County Officers explained they were attempting to arrest a man for Harassment in their jurisdiction, and his vehicle had been spotted behind a Clayton business. As they attempted to arrest the man, he actively resisted, and Clayton Officers assisted in taking him into custody. The man was later transported to the St. Louis County Justice Center for booking on their charges.

Officers responded to the Clayton Gardens neighborhood after receiving a report of a vehicle leaving the scene of an accident on Saturday afternoon. They found the striking vehicle parked in the 200 block of Crandon with heavy damage to the rear bumper and roof. Their investigation showed the SUV struck a city-owned concrete light pole on Friday night, damaging the post. Officers contacted the registered owner, who admitted to striking the light pole. She explained that she struck the pole while attempting a U-turn. After the crash, she parked the vehicle and called a ride-share service.

Finally, Officers received multiple calls involving the same woman throughout their shift on Sunday. The calls began when the woman called 911 and requested to speak with a specific St. Louis County Officer about her arrest the day before. When the Officers explained that the County Officer was no longer on duty, the woman became uncooperative and stated she planned to wait at the St. Louis County Justice Center until he returned. Instead, she generated several trespassing complaints from local businesses and repeatedly misused our emergency dispatch services by calling 911 for non-emergency, non-law-enforcement-related purposes. Despite being warned of the consequences, she continued to call 911 and was arrested for Misuse of 911. She has an upcoming court date through the Clayton Municipal Court.
