INVITATION FOR BIDS

Sealed bids for the FY2020 Microsurfacing Project will be received by City of Clayton Public Works staff at the following times and locations...

Prior to 1:30 PM on March 31 - call 314-290-8540 to arrange for drop off
Between 1:30 - 2:00 PM on March 31 - bidders can deliver sealed bids to 10 S Brentwood, Clayton MO 63105 

The bids will be opened and read aloud at 10 S Brentwood on March 31 after the bid closes at 2 PM.

The Scope of Work consists of reconstructing selected curb ramps to ADA standards and application of microsurfacing to existing pavement surface.   Additional pay items will include pavement markings, pedestrian pushbutton upgrades, and traffic control.  Other incidental items shall be included as shown in the specifications.

A prebid meeting will be held on March 17, 2020 at 10:00 AM in Conference Room A/B, 1st  floor, Clayton City Hall, 10 N. Bemiston Avenue, Clayton, MO 63105.

Not less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages shall be paid to all workers performing under this Contract in this area according to the rates determined by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations of the State of Missouri.

A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

The City reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and to waive any irregularities in the best interest of the City.

FAQ's

 

Q: Are there standard specifications and drawings for the Pedestrian Signal Facilities?

A: Refer to St. Louis County Standard specifications §904.4 for material and construction specifications.

 

Q: Will the paving portion of this work be required for nights or weekends?

A: Paving in the residential areas will be preferred for the weekends during daylight hours.  Paving in the commercial districts could be performed over-night or on weekends.
