HIGH-RISE BUILDINGS LIFE SAFETY EVALUATIONS
CHICAGO, IL
The City of Chicago implemented an ordinance requiring all high-rise buildings to have a Life Safety Evaluation (LSE) to ensure a minimum level of life safety existed.  Buildings were exempt from the LSE if you elected to retrofit your building with a sprinkler system within the next 12 years.  Commercial and residential transient (hotel) use groups were not eligible for the LSE and subject to sprinkler retrofit.
