As a method of educating members of the general public about the complexities of modern law enforcement, a Citizens Police Academy has been developed to foster a better understanding of how police officers are trained to fulfill a myriad of responsibilities. The classes will include the following topics: patrol procedures, criminal and juvenile laws, crime scene investigation, traffic enforcement and firearms familiarization.
This opportunity is open to Clayton residents and business owners, or any employee who works at a Clayton business. Admission is by application only. Applicants must be at least 19 years old. A background check will be performed.
Classes will be held on Thursday evenings at the Clayton Police Department from September 26 - November 21.
