Summary
The City of Clayton has received federal grant funding for the Central Business District (CBD) Resurfacing Project to mill and overlay the streets in the downtown area. This project will also address non-compliant ADA curb ramps and install brick paver crosswalks to replace stamped asphalt crosswalks. The project consists of two phases. Phase 1 was completed in the Spring of 2025, with construction on phase 2 having begun in February of 2026.
Phase 2
A significant portion of the concrete work has been completed with the crews installing the new sidewalk curb ramps and some of the new brick paver crosswalks. The milling and paving portion of this project is expected to begin in June of 2026 as shown below.
Construction work is weather dependent, so the schedule is subject to change. Any changes to the project schedule will be posted here, so please continue to check this site for the latest updates and specific street closures for each weekend.
This website will be the primary source for up to date information throughout the design and construction of the project. As updates are available (particularly during construction), they will be posted on this page. The short URL for future access is www.claytonmo.gov/cbdresurfacing.
