Microsurfacing (a thin, surface applied asphalt wearing surface) and curb ramp reconstruction will take place in Davis Place/Shaw Park Drive/Hunter Avenue.
PAVING HAS BEEN POSTPONED TUESDAY (05/19) & WEDNESDAY (05/20) DUE TO WEATHER AND SUBSEQUENT WATER ISSUES. OBSERVE NO PARKING SIGNS AS THEY WILL BE UPDATED AS NECESSARY.
As communicated last fall, the city’s contractor (Byrne & Jones) is scheduled to microsurfacing Davis place streets this spring. Byrne & Jones is scheduled to start paving Tuesday May 12th, and weather permitting, the entire neighborhood will be completed in one week. The plan is to alternate the street closures per the schematic below, to minimize the disruption to on-street parking. Residents will be receiving communication by mail with this information soon.
During the paving process, the streets will be completely closed to traffic. Temporary street parking restrictions will be in place to allow for construction and to protect the pavement following installation. “No Parking” signs will be posted along your street 1-2 days prior to paving. Please have your vehicles moved by 7AM the morning your street is scheduled to be paved. On-street parking will be available on the streets not scheduled for paving. The paved roads are expected to be completely re-opened to traffic before 7am the following morning. Please refer to the attached map for the paving sequencing. In the event of inclement weather, work will be rescheduled for the following working day. Please check the link below for schedule updates. Please do not run lawn sprinklers on your scheduled paving days, the water can prevent proper application of the pavement surface treatment.
Public Works will coordinate with Republic Services to minimize disruptions to trash and recycling services during paving operations. Collection crews will begin servicing the neighborhood on the regular pickup days at 7 AM. Please have your trash, recycle, or yard waste ready for pickup by 7 AM.
