The streets in the City of Clayton are swept on the first Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of each month on a monthly schedule except for the Downtown Business District and City owned arterial roadways (Brentwood Blvd, Maryland Ave, and N Meramec Ave) which are swept weekly.
On-street parking restriction signs posted for the Street Sweeping Program are intended to assist with the collection of the general road dirt and debris generated from typical use. It is not intended for collection of yard waste placed at the curb. Residents are not allowed or encouraged to rake leaves and other yard waste and debris into the streets except when the City's Curbside Leaf Collection Program is running. The Public Works Department publishes a schedule in the Fall and Spring to indicate dates when each neighborhood can expect this service. At other times of the year, Residents are encouraged to use the City's Yard Waste Collection Program that is provided through a contract waste hauler or private haulers to dispose of yard waste .
