The Clayton Citizens Police Academy was created to strengthen the partnership between the Clayton community and the Clayton Police Department. This interactive program gives participants a behind-the-scenes look at modern law enforcement through both discussion and hands-on learning.
Over the course of the academy, participants will gain insight into the challenges and responsibilities of policing, while also learning how officers are trained to serve our community with professionalism and integrity.
Class topics include:

Criminal and juvenile law

Crime scene investigation

Traffic enforcement
Program Details:

Schedule: Thursday evenings, 6:00–8:00 p.m.

Length: 8 weeks

Next session begins: Thursday, October 9, 2025 (No class November 27th)

Attendance each week is encouraged, as sessions build on one another.
Eligibility & Enrollment:
- Admission by application only. Background checks will be conducted.
- Open to applicants 18 years of age or older. Priority is given to Clayton residents, business owners, and employees of Clayton-based businesses.
- Class size is limited; applications are reviewed on a first-come basis.
