Owners of covered properties must measure and report their building’s annual energy and water use to the City. To comply, each owner must submit a benchmarking report via ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager with the following details:
Building ID (assigned by the City)
Property address and contact info
Primary building type(s) and gross floor area
Weather Normalized Site and Source Energy Use Intensity (EUI)
Greenhouse gas emissions (direct and indirect)
Indoor and outdoor water use
ENERGY STAR Score
“Reported benchmarking information” means information both defined and generated by the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, and descriptive information about the covered property and its operational characteristics including the following:
Descriptive information:
Building ID, as assigned by the City
Property Address & Contact Information
Primary Property Type(s)
Gross Floor Area(s)
Output information (generated by ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager):
Weather Normalized Site & Source Energy Use Intensity (Site EUI & Source EUI)
Direct & Indirect Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Indoor & Outdoor Water Use
The ENERGY STAR score, if available; and Data Accuracy
Properties wishing to claim an exemption from or an extension to the requirements of the Building Energy Benchmarking Ordinance of the City of Clayton must fill out the following form and attach supporting evidence to demonstrate a property’s eligibility for said exemptions or extensions.
